What is Sport Massage and Remedial Therapy?

Sport Massage and Remedial Therapy also known as Soft Tissue Therapy is the treatment of soft tissue structures: muscles, fascia, tendons and ligaments using specific soft tissue technique.

It is the most effective way of preventing and improving muscle soreness and can treat the discomfort or injury caused by the stresses of everyday life, repetitive movements, occupation, poor posture and the effects of sport and non- sport related problems. It is ideal to release tension, reduce pain, restore range of movement and promote good condition of soft tissues.

Everyone can benefit from a sports massage, not just athletes. It benefits people in all walks of life regardless of age, profession or occupation, not just those involved in sports.

Whether you are suffering from musculoskeletal pain and discomfort or maybe recovering from an injury that is affecting your performance, Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy can help you.

As a preventative measure Sport and Remedial Massage can help to keep your soft tissues healthy, aligned, and to remove any scar tissue or adhesions from the soft tissues which could eventually build up causing pain and restriction.

During treatment I will not only deal with the immediate source and symptom of discomfort using advanced techniques but also help you understand of how a problem is caused and how problems can be avoided in the future, identify the source of dysfunction and provide post treatment advice on specific stretching and strengthening exercises.
